Welcome to 6th grade!!

I am Dr. Gina M. Jenkins reading specialist for Southeast Middle School 6th grade. I have 30 years in the field of education serving in many roles: Elementary Teacher, Instructional Coach, Reading Specialist, Summer School Administrator and After-School Tutoring Coordinator. My educational background consist of the following degrees: Bachelor of Science/Special Education, Master of Education/Curriculum/Instruction , Master of Arts/School Administration and a Doctoral Degree in Education with an emphasis in Social Justice.

I was born and raised in St. Louis. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, along with building solid reading foundations for students. Building positive relationships with students and families has proven to be an effective strategy for student success in which I feel is extremely important.

I enjoy time with family, travel, reading, cooking and instructing Zumba Classes. In addition, I am a Navy Veteran which further confirms my commitment to serving others. I look forward to a successful school year!!
